About Us

Who We Are.

We Are

Children First the Society was founded in June 2006, with the aspiration to provide a better life for children, who by a stroke of misfortune are unlikely to full fill their ambitions and desires.
Our goal is to improve these lives not just through financial support, but also by visible commitment to proactively engage with these children and their families. CFTS actively supports the ICU award at the National Institute of Child Health for the past 12 years. Here, we have been treating
children with all sorts of diseases pertaining to the ward, especially in the treatment of Guillain-Barre-Syndrome, an inflammatory disorder of the peripheral nerves of the brain and the spinal cord.
In the past we have provided the ward with equipment, medicines, diagnostic investigations and overall maintenance. In April 2018, we finished the rebuilding process and have made a state of the art ward that meets the standards of any ward in a private hospital here in Karachi or anywhere else in the world.
We are a unique organization, founded by mothers wishing to make a difference to the lives of children in Pakistan and around the world. Children First, The Society aims to improve these lives, not just through financial support, but also by visible commitment to proactively engage with these children and their families.
Going forward, Children First, The Society will provide funding to the ICU ward for the treatment of all diseases pertaining to this unit. This is a major step for the organisation. However, without donations we cannot make a difference. Without donations, we will struggle to lift the sprits of these children whose lives have been affected by tragedy. Your support can help provide a happy ending. Together we can make a difference. Let us achieve together. Let us make a difference to the children of this hospital and in Pakistan.

President Message

Dear Sir/ Madam,

Children First, The Society (CF) which is registered under the Societies Act of 1860 is non for profit and established with the primary objective of being the voice of children suffering from Guillian-Barre-Syndrome (GBS) and various other diseases pertaining to the ICU ward at the National Institute of Child Health. The Society aims to achieve public awareness of the Disease with the objective of helping patients, their care givers and medical support staff the ability to make informed disease management choices in order to improve their quality of life.
Guillian-Barre-Syndrome is an inflammatory disorder of the peripheral nerves of the brain and the spinal cord.  It begins with a rapid onset of weakness affecting the muscles of the leg, arms, chest, face and eyes. Treatment involves the use of IVIg (plasma formed through a combination of antibodies) to battle the disease.  However, the treatment per child varies from Rs. 120,000 to Rs. 180,000 making this treatment very expensive to fund on our own.
In addition to this, last year we adopted the entire ICU ward at this hospital.  Since then we have completely renovated the ward providing them with an entirely new electrical system, new air conditioners, heaters and a brand new ventilator.   CF every month gets the ward fumigated, cleaned and is responsible for the maintenance of all the equipment making these children get treated in a safe and a clean environment to ensure a speedy recovery.
Your support and contribution is much needed to help raise funds for this Disease and other Diseases related to the ICU ward of this hospital so, Children First, The Society can make a difference in the life of these precious children.
As Nelson Mandela said: “There can be no keener revelation of a society’s soul than the way in which it treats its children”.
The Society will be organizing our yearly Eid function at the hospital.  If you wish to attend please email us at the address below.  May Allah bless us all in this auspicious month of Ramadan.  Aameen.

Thanking You,
Sincerely,
AKhan
